TEXAS MEDICAL ASSOCIATION FOUNDATION

Texas Medical Association Foundation supports the goals that TMA member physicians and their families have for the people of Texas: to share their expertise and caring so that Texans live healthier lives. As a supporting organization of TMA, the foundation does this by raising funds in support of specific TMA and TMAA initiatives and evaluating and acting on requests for program funding from TMA and the family of medicine.

The foundation currently supports the following five major TMA programs.

Be Wise – Immunize: protecting tens of thousands of Texas infants, children, adolescents and adults each year from disease and even death by ensuring immunizations are provided to those in need. Donate now to help protect fellow Texans, or learn more about how you can be involved with this program.

Hard Hats for Little Heads: preventing debilitating and even life threatening injuries by providing 10,000 little Texans free bike helmets and useful safety information each year. Donate now to protect a child, or learn more about you can be involved with this program.

Minority Scholarship Program: ensuring that the heath care needs of Texas’ increasingly diverse population are met by assisting a qualified student accepted to each Texas medical school. Donate now to help a worthy student realize the dream of becoming a physician, or learn more about this program.

Ernest and Sarah Butler Awards for Excellence in Science Teaching: recognizing elementary, middle and high school teachers and their schools for their outstanding science teaching to ensure Texas youth are able to pursue science based professions such as medicine and to reinforce the importance of science in our everyday lives. Donate now to take a stand for excellence in science teaching, or to learn more about how to nominate a teacher.
